On the fic front.

As most of my flist knows my muse has been uncooperative for months. So, to tempt her back to life I'm trying to write a challenge fic for the GrangerEnchanted Christmas Challenge. Over a week later I have a grand total of 562 words. *sigh* I don't know if I'll be able to finish it by the deadline, but I'm sure trying... though it's like pulling teeth.

She watched as the crystal-clear potion slowly took on a smoky hue, looking much as a crystal ball did in Muggle movies. Glancing at the time, she noted the change in the potion coinciding with the approach of midnight. Excitement and apprehension collided within Hermione; on one hand she wanted to know ‘who’ her true love was, on the other hand she felt as if she were cheating fate.

My hubby told me to go buy the digital camera I wanted for Christmas, wrap it and put it under the tree. Umm, yea right like I could do (opened that baby right up). There are 4 pics under the cut 2 of the outside of my house. It's all lit up and you can see the Singing Christmas Tree (the lights move with the music it plays). Two are inside, one of the tree. It's not finished yet but got all the lights up on it, finally. The 2nd is two of the houses I've painted for our Christmas Village... about 25 in total. I thought it was more but it's not. :]

WOW 32 members and 48 watching! I'm amazed...REALLY! Just a heads up to those on my LJ flist who are only on the watching list, you won't be able to read the ummm more mature fics. Those will be posted under members only. So even if you're not planning on participating, and that's fine, you'll still need to join to read the porn! :D

I have said nothing about the election in my LJ but have commented here and there in others. But now I feel moved to write a few words.

Today my husband and I voted both voted for Obama, it was in fact the FIRST time my husband ever voted in his 50+ years. I have never been so proud to be an American as I am tonight. I lived through the sixties and the civil rights movement, Watergate, Vietnam, etc and never thought I would live to see an African American president. Never mind one of mixed race... now let's hope he lives up to his promise. (I have a good feeling he will)

One of my co-maintainers, Madelinekrieger, is getting in touch with scent_of_autumn to ask her to make us some icons from her manips. *Is starting to get excited about this*

On the home front, hubby has been laid off AGAIN and driving my crazy! This time it could be anywhere from two weeks until the beginning of December. *note to self: check supply of hair dye to cover the gray hubby will be causing.* And... my bday is Friday... damn the years are flying by!!!

My, but it has been awhile since I've posted here! Let's see... well, hubby has been laid off AGAIN. I hope it doesn't last TOO long with the holidays coming up that could put a huge snag in things.

My muse is still MIA, but I'm not giving up... yet. The Smutastic Award(s) on LJ is accepting nominations and I still haven't recieved an email telling me one of my stories has been nominated. *is very sad about that* The LM_HGFicxchange is coming along. I've been busy writing up rules and such and I hope it'll be well accepted. *fingers crossed*

While hubby was laid off last time he put up a deck at the backdoor and a water fountain in the front yard. Guess who has to clean that.

Hmm, what else... OH I entered an icontest on hsow_icons , however, there was only one other person who entered but I seem to be winning first and third place. Go take a looksee if you like and vote. You'll have to guess which are mine though, I'm not telling! :)

My daughter is fine and the pregnancy is coming along as expected. Don't know if it's twins yet though.

I've accumlulated a few more dragons. Here's the hatchlings I have right now. Give em each a click and help em grow!

Severus woke up in the middle of the night. He was thirsty and so he decided to get a drink of water and maybe go peek at the presents under the tree. Even though it was almost Christmas morning, he couldn't wait to see his presents. There was one bashful box that looked like a Hogwarts.

Then Severus noticed that Hermione was out of bed too. She must not have been able to wait for her presents either.

Severus thought that he would surprise Hermione. Maybe even sneak up behind her and kiss her on her wary breasts. That always made Hermione devilish.

Severus crept hopefully down the stairs and into the living room. There was the tree, with its spectacular lights, and the presents, heaped up fleetingly, and the mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, and Hermione. Kissing someone.

Severus was so angry, he picked up a Black Lake from a table and threw it duskily lay on the bed.

They both looked around.

"Hermione, you elegant cat!" Severus yelled. "How could you cheat on me with...with..." Severus looked and then rubbed his legs and looked again. It was Santa Claus.

"Let me explain," Hermione said. "I came down for a glass of water and then I found Santa here under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "So of course she had to give me a kiss. And what a lewd kiss it was."

"Well, I suppose," Severus said bubblingly. "If he was under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "Why don't you give me a kiss too? Then things will be reflective."

That seemed reasonable. Severus went over under the mistletoe and kissed Santa.

Santa was the best kisser ever, like the cat who ate the canary.. He made Severus's eyes feel all cool.

"You see?" Hermione said friskily and Severus saw. So they had a threeway.

Everybody's presents were late.

LMHG Fic Exchange update

Okay... I've decided to do it. The poll, though not an overwhelming response, was more positive with only 1 voting no.

Now the bad new... I NEED HELP! I'm not dumb enough to think I can do this ALONE. I'll need at least two others who can help out and it would be really helpful if you know how to link and do an LJ cut. Rules need to be made, etc. I've been working on a header for the comm here.

Good God I totally forgot I had written this! It was for ms_figg's 100 Ways to Kill a Weasley Challenge over on AFF.

It was finally over. Voldemort was dead and Harry lived. But, once again, Ron felt that he was nothing more than Harry’s sidekick. His contribution to the defeat of Voldemort was again, overlooked. Even Hermione was getting more attention for saving Snape’s life after Nagini bit him. Yes, his Hermione was one smart witch, without him or Harry knowing it she put Snape under a stasis spell and after the Healers arrived, dragged one of them to Shrieking Shack. The Healer portkeyed Snape to St. Mungo’s where he was treated for the bite and poison. It took three months, but Snape fully recovered from his injuries.

“Really, Ron, this room is an absolute mess. How can you find anything in here?” Hermione said, as she surveyed the clutter that was her fiancés room.

“I can find everything just fine, thank you very much. You’re not my mother you know!”

“I’d wager you haven’t even had your robes cleaned since the last battle,” said Hermione as she picked up one of Ron’s robes by thumb and forefinger he had thrown into a corner.

“I’ll take care of it, all right,” he said as he grabbed it away from Hermione.

“You best do so, don’t think that I will put up with this once we’re married. You’re right, I’m not your mother, and I won’t be picking up after you!” she said as she stormed out of the room slamming the door behind her.

“Women,” said Ron as he set about to making his room livable again.
As he sorted through his clothes he placed them in three piles, must clean, can wear again, and already clean. Once that was accomplished he went through the pockets of the ‘must clean’ pile before calling Kreacher to fetch them. In one of trousers, he found the fang. He couldn’t remember where he got it from. “Mmm, I’ll have to show this to Harry later,” he said as put it in his back pocket and continued on to finish his task.

Severus Snape was a patient man, but it had been months and months since he planted that poisonous fang in Weasley’s pocket. Doesn’t that boy ever check his pockets? Severus thought to himself. He had plans for the delectable Miss Granger and he was eager to get started.

“I don’t understand it. He should have known better then to play with something like that,” said a crying Hermione.

“It was an accident,” Harry said as he held his friend in his arms consoling her. “He was tossing it in the air and the next thing I knew it was stuck in his hand…and…”

The funeral was a somber affair Molly was beside herself having now lost two sons. Arthur seemed to have virtually aged overnight. The big surprise to everyone was seeing Severus Snape walk in the door.

He conveyed his condolences to Molly and Arthur, and then paid his respects to the deceased Ronald Weasley. No one noticed the sly smile on his face as he looked upon the body, or as he said in a voice so soft that none could hear him speak, “Don’t worry about your fiancé, Weasley, I’ll take very, very good care of her. If I have my way, she won’t be in mourning for too long.”

“Miss Granger,” said Snape as he stood before the grieving girl, “I am sorry for your loss.”

“Thank you, Professor, but quite frankly, sir, you are the last person I expected to see here.”

“I’m not surprised by that, it is well known I was not too fond of the late Mr Weasley, however, I do consider Molly and Arthur friends after a fashion.”

“Of course, and I’m sure they appreciate you being here, as do I.”

Several Months Later…

Hermione entered The Leaky Cauldron on her way to Diagon Alley when she spotted a familiar face at one of the tables. “Professor Snape,” she said as she approached the table. “How have you been?”

Severus looked up at the sound of her voice. “Miss Granger, I’ve been fine and yourself?”

“I’m… doing better than the last time we met.”

“Where are my manners? Please, won’t you join me,” he said as he stood up, pulled a chair out, and helped Hermione to sit.

Hermione was a bit stunned she didn’t expect Snape to invite her to join him. “Yes, thank you,” she said when once again he surprised her as he held out a chair for her.

“Would you care for a drink or perhaps join me for an early lunch?”
“I don’t mean to sound rude, Professor…”
“Severus. Please call me, Severus.”

Hermione wasn’t sure she could take any more surprises today without having to check herself into St. Mungo’s. “I don’t mean to sound rude, Severus, but why are you being so nice to me?”

“Do I need a reason, Miss Granger?”

“Please call me Hermione. It’s only fair since you asked that I use your given name, and yes, you’re a Slytherin; you do nothing without a reason, especially when it involves a Gryffindor. So, Severus, what’s in it for you?”
“Permit me to buy you a drink and I’ll answer your question.”
Hermione thought for a moment before she answered. “Okay, just tea for me though, please. I don’t drink this early in the day.”

After the tea was served, he turned to Hermione, “Now, the answer to your question is quite simple...”

Three Months Later…

The rays of the morning sun fell on his face awakening him from a very pleasant dream. He opened his eyes as he turned away from the light shining into the room to see the sleeping form of his lover. His plans played out just as he expected and he hoped that soon she would agree be his wife. Severus placed his arm around her slumbering body and kissed her shoulder.

She stirred and turned to face him. “Mmmm, good morning.”
“Good morning, love. Sleep well?”

“Like a baby,” she said with a smile as she moved closer to him.

Yes, he thought, my plans worked well indeed. It’s a good thing Weasley never learned to be careful with what he played with.
